These gloves, inspired by Viven Leigh, have a ribbon threaded through them which allows you to gather the cuff as Vivien Leigh’s most famous character, Scarlett O’Hara, would have done with her infamous curtains. The wrist slit, when unbottoned, allows the gloves to slide easily over the hand, but when buttoned, shows off slim wrists.
Gauge: 32 sts and 52 rows per 4 inches (10 cm) square in stockinette knit flat and in the round after blocking.
Finished Measurements: To fit 7[8] inches (17.8[20.3] cm) hand circumference with 0 to .5 inches of negative ease.
Yarn Requirements: 300[350] yards of heavy lace to light fingering weight yarn. Shown in Schaefer Yarns Audrey in ‘Ash’
Needle Size: 2.5 mm (US 1.5) double pointed needles or size needed to obtain gauge.
Pattern Includes: written directions
Stitches Used: knit, purl, k2tog, ssk, m1, yo, knit front & back, slip with yarn in front and with yarn in back, sl2-p2togtbl.
